What is Compline?
The Daily Office from our Book of Common Prayer continues the ancient monastic tradition of intentionally stopping for prayer throughout the day. In our Anglican tradition, the Daily Office consists of Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline (pronounced Comp-lin). The word Compline comes from the Latin completorium as Compline is prayed at the completion of the day.
At St. Barnabas, Compline is streamed live on Facebook on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 pm. The short service takes about ten minutes, but is rich with prayer, psalms, and silence. It is a peaceful and comforting way to end the day.
